Nighttime skin care ritual!

*Disclaimer: I AM NOT AN EXPERT*

We all have different skin types and goals when it comes to skin care. I want to have bright clear skin and to delay the appearance of lines and other signs of aging. So, if you’re hoping to achieve the same OR you just love slathering oils on your face, then read until the end because I’m sharing with you my nightly regimen!

The products that I have listed below are what have been working for me so far. I have been diligent with this routine for more than 6 months now and I’m pretty happy with the results! Proof? There is less need to put on makeup! On a daily basis, I just put BB cream on my undereyes, blush, eyebrows and lip color!

My nighttime routine is divided into 3 parts but it doesn’t take forever! Promise!

PART ONE: CLEANSING

unnamed

I love double cleansing! It leaves my face super clean especially after a long day out! First, I massage 2 pumps of the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil all over my face. It easily melts away my makeup PLUS it smells so good! After rinsing the oil, I use the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser and give my face a little massage. I love that these are both mild cleansers and they don’t leave my skin dry!

Next, I put 2 drops of the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Toner on a cotton pad then I pat that on my face and neck. This is non-alcohol based so it removes residues and dirt, preps for moisturizing while already hydrating my skin!

PART TWO: ESSENCE and SERUMS

The SK-II Facial Treatment Essence is basically an all in one miracle water. It is anti-aging and hydrating at the same time. They suggest pouring it on a cotton pad then pat it on your face but I like to put it directly on my palm then to my face because it’s expensive! I don’t want to waste it! Sayang ang product na matitira lang sa cotton! Hahaha!

Once that’s fully absorbed, I go on and layer the following serums / oils:

This Vitamin C serum is for anti-aging and brightening but at the same time is still gentle for sensitive skin like mine. I got this from @shop.kbeautymnl.

Pro tip from Pau of KBeautyMnl: store this in its box to prevent it from oxidizing.

Sunday Riley’s LUNA Sleeping Night Oil

I read that if there’s one ingredient that you must have for anti-aging, it’s RETINOL and this bottle is packed with the retinol rich blue oil that promises to boost cell repair. I don’t use this every night though because I feel like the Retinol can be too harsh for my skin if I put too much.

On nights when I don’t use the Luna, I layer the Klairs with the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. This product repairs the skin while you sleep plus it moisturizes the skin but doesn’t leave the face oily or sticky. Another great thing about this is, it smells amazing!

PART THREE: EYES

Lastly, for the eyes!

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Serum

1 pump of this serum for both my under eyes promises to reduce lines, puffiness and dark circles. I have been using this for 5 months now and I’m quite happy about it. My dark circles are still there but are way lighter than before! But if you guys have any suggestion for a better eye cream or serum especially for dark circles, please let me know!

Remember to wash your face first with a mild cleanser and make sure to remove all the makeup or dirt before starting to put anything. I think that’s the most important part of any skin care routine.

Of course, you should first consult a dermatologist before using anything on your face especially if you have sensitive skin. I trust my go-to dermatologist, Dr. Gaile Robredo-Vitas for my skin care queries. Visit her at DermHQ, located at 2nd floor Island Plaza Salcedo Bldg, 105 Leviste St. Salcedo Village, Makati City.

After I finish these bottles, I’m planning to try other products. I’d love to know your favourite skin care products or tips you swear!

To a bright and young looking skin for years!

xx,

Anj
